The rest of my story...then on to fun stuff!

The rest of my story up until this point is not so great either, but I want it to be told so we can move on to my bright happy future.

Miss Angela brought me down to Savannah, a young man put in an application to adopt me.  The young man had a nice home for me to stay in and he really seemed to want to adopt me.  Miss Angela wanted to make sure things were going to work out for me in this new home so she placed me in the home on a Foster to Adopt contract.  In the rescue world that means I stay with him for a few weeks to make sure it is a good fit before finalizing my adoption.

Everything went well for the first few weeks, then when Miss Angela went to follow up on me she could not get a hold of the young man.  He disconnected both of his phone numbers, she sent a letter but never heard a word, she called his boss in the Army, she called all of his references, she called the police and animal control.  Everyone told her there was nothing they could do because I am "property?"  WTF?  I am a living being!  She would have to file a civil claim in court in order to try and get me back.

Months went by and she heard absolutely nothing about me, she still tried to e-mail the young man, still nothing.

Then it happened, September 15th, 2009 the rescue got an e-mail from a nice young lady that was part of my original rescue.  I was at Chatham County Animal Control, I had been left abandoned in an apartment with another dog.  Even though they had all my vet paperwork CCAC would not release me until my stray hold was up, 10 whole days!  The stray hold was in place in case my "owner" showed up to reclaim me.  How could they put me and Miss Angela through that torture?

Finally on September 21st, 2009 Miss Angela came to pick me up, promptly at 1:00pm in the afternoon.  I was SO happy to see her, but something bad had happened to me.  You see, CCAC left me in a 3'3 kennel with another pit bull, I got attacked over the weekend and I had some open wounds on my head and tons of wounds along my neck.

I hopped into Miss Angela's car and we headed back to Summerville, I slept the whole way home!  She got me home and cleaned me up and put me on some medication to make sure I got all better.

I have almost forgotten what has happened to me, but I get scared around new dogs, I am afraid they might hurt me, like in the shelter.

I tend to be a little timid and skittish sometimes and even though it was a man that put me through this, I still love the guys!

Miss Angela feels like she failed me and she is determined to find me the best home possible so nothing bad will ever happen to me ever again.  I tell Miss Angela that I am just so happy that she loves me and us dogs, we are good at forgiving.
